Planned electricity interruption in Parow areas and Ravensmead

The City would like to inform residents and businesses in the Parow South, Parow East, Parow Industria and Ravensmead areas of a planned electricity interruption. 

The electricity supply will be interrupted on Sunday, 21 August 2022 or on Sunday ,28 August 2022 to enable Eskom to carry out major substation refurbishment work on their electricity network. In case of bad weather, which may delay the work on 21 August 2022, the interruption will take place on 28 August 2022.

The interruption will take place from 07:30 to 17:30.

The supply could be restored at any time and customers must treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the interruption.

Residents are advised to switch off geysers and disconnect sensitive electronic equipment to prevent damage from possible power surges when the supply is restored.

'Necessary maintenance and upgrade work is required to improve the reliability and security of the electricity supply.

'The City apologises for any inconvenience caused. We thank residents for their cooperation and understanding,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Energy, Councillor Beverley van Reenen.
